Chai Chat is a place to savor books, build community, and enjoy the comfort of shared storytelling — ideally over a cup of chai! Across the Indian subcontinent, chai is more than a drink: it is a social ritual, a moment to think deeply, and an invitation to meaningful conversation. Chai creates a literary and cultural spaces shaped by the rhythms and mores of South Asian life. Of course, chai itself is wonderfully varied, with each region offering its own blend, flavor, and tradition. In that spirit, our group brings together diverse voices, perspectives, and life experiences from South Asia and its sprawling diaspora — reflected in both our book selections and the conversations they inspire.
