Northeastern US Book Clubs

Book discussion group sponsored by the Scarborough Public Library that used to meet at O'Reilly's Cure in Scarborough, Maine, but has now moved to the Seadog Brewing in Scarborough, near Cabella's.

A local book club that meets in-person once a month on the fourth Tuesday in the Conference Room at the Morris County Library in Whippany, NJ from 6:30-7:45 pm. Please only join this book club if you plan on committing to reading the book club selection and attending the meetings each month. Please change your RSVP if you are not able to attend. Try to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the meeting to socialize and get to know other members. Bring a copy of the book (if you can).

Building Bonds through books and conversation.  Our club reads a wide range of authors andgenres.  Books that Bind is the official Book Club of the Interchurch Center located in the Morningside/ Harlem area of New York City, NY. The club was established in 2011 to build bonds and friendship through a shared love of books among the various tenants of the building and neighbored.  Due to the Pandemic the Club is currently meeting on Zoom until further notice. New members are always welcome.

Aight, so boom! What happens when you bring together two millennial women with locs who also share a love of books, cocktails, and great conversation? You get the Loc’d & Lit book club! This club was created by two life-long friends, Alanna and Trish, who are in the beginning stages of their loc journey and who also share a mutual love of all things books! We hope to build a community of fellow readers where we can share our voices and opinions as they are not always heard or highlighted in the current mainstream book-sphere. So join us monthly as we discuss our latest read and touch upon all themes relevant to women today, whether it be: relationships, parenting, career, race, or life’s constant twists and turns. We hope to explore it all as we talk about the ways that we are inspired and grow though our favorite books.  So may our locs thrive, our cocktails quench, and our pages turn - Its Loc’d & Lit!! (bookclub).

We are a group of diverse, feisty, book lovers, devoted to attending our monthly in person book discussion. My husband calls this club a "book coven."

This book club was founded in 2021 for those who love a good read and a good brew! We meet the first Thursday of the month at 6pm at Tackle Box Brewing in Marlborough, MA and our members enjoy lively conversations around group chosen books.

Join Massachusetts Avenue Project’s Book Club, the Reading Rutabagas, to collectively read and discuss books related to our mission. Book topics and themes will include social justice, urban farming, food systems, and the environment. We are a Buffalo West side community book club! Our mission is to nurture the growth of a diverse, accessible, and equitable local food system, promote economic opportunities, and empower youth through social change education.
