About The Book Club Kids
We started The Book Club Kids because, like many people, we love reading but wanted more structure and accountability. The goal is simple. Read more, finish books, and have thoughtful conversation around them.
Each month, one member nominates two to three books they are genuinely interested in. The group votes in the app, and the book with the most votes becomes the monthly read. To keep things realistic, selections are typically around 400 pages.
Nominations rotate by member order. When new members join, they may be invited to nominate for an upcoming month, after which the rotation continues.
All discussion for the monthly book happens directly in the book’s discussion post in this app. We’ll add prompts throughout the month so readers can participate asynchronously. We may also host a short live virtual discussion toward the end of the month if there’s interest.
For readers local to LA, we plan a casual dinner near the end of the month.
