I could NOT put this book down. The other language arts teachers in my department (middle school teacher here) raved about this book. And I’m so glad that Verity was my first introduction into Colleen Hoover.

I loved the twists and turns this book took. By the end of the book, I had no idea who to believe or which characters were the most reliable and I LOVED that about the book. I loved the back and forth between reading from Verity’s perspective and Lowen’s perspective. I found Lowen to be a bit needy/whiny at times as a character, which is my only real gripe with the book. But I did enjoy how this book just left me guessing.

Guys, I’m devastated that I wasn’t obsessed with the ending. I thought the entire book was good, I had completely devoured this book. I always love Colleen’s writing and her characters.
Unfortunately, the hype around this book let me down. It may be because I read a lot of thrillers but the ending wasn’t mind blowing to me. When I finished the book my immediate thought was that there had to be more. I thought the “The End” and even the acknowledgements were apart of the story. Nope.
I don’t agree with my fellow CoHorts who think this isn’t a romance. I think it’s a romance with some touches of thriller.

When it comes down to it, I think this book was just “alright.”
...see what I did there? Hehe

I tried really hard to give my thoughts without making this a spoiler review.

Also, I think it would be cool if Colleen wrote under the pen name Verity Crawford or Lowen Ashleigh. Make their books a reality Colleen. Lol
