Ugly Love: A Novel

From Colleen Hoover, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Starts with Us and It Ends with Us, a heart-wrenching love story that proves attraction at first sight can be messy.

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she doesn't think it's love at first sight. They wouldn't even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn't want love, she doesn't have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don't expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can't handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

Tate is moving in with her pilot brother, Corbin, for the short term while she's working as a nurse and finishing up school. Upon her arrival, Corbin is out of town, but there is a man passed out at his apartment door. The incoherent drunk man happens to be Corbin's neighbor, Miles. Miles and Tate's "relationship", if you can even call it that, starts here. They have a crazy attraction to each other, but Miles has rules that Tate has to follow in order to maintain their "arrangement"...

Y'all. I love Colleen Hoover. However, I don't know if it's because I listened to the audio of this book or what... but this was not my favorite. The male narrator made Miles seem like he was SO whiny and it was really hard to get past that. I liked the story, but I didn't do all the ugly crying that everyone associates with this book. Again, that could be related to the audio. This is the first CoHo I've done on audio and I think it'll probably be my last. I may try to physically reread this and see if I like it more since everyone else usually raves about this one.

This book was very bad. Author presented the FMC's character as very useless one who can't standup for herself and doesn't know to let go at right time. I didn't like MMC he had no right to blame the past trauma in the present and make her feel worthless. It was total crap.

Meh - I think by the time I read this book, I'd read too many by the same author.

To be very honest, I hated the plot, the storyline and especially the first half of the book. The first half is only about one thing (iykyk), which is boring and annoying after a limit. The only thing I liked in this book is its writing and dual pov.
I rated it 2 stars because of the writing, it's colleen hoover. I annotated the book even if I didn't like it cause it has some amazing quotes. I personally wouldn't recommend this book to anyone but if you are a coho fan already, you might like the quotes and her writing style.

I loved that book, one of my favourite from this author. Lots of romantic/spicy scenes and a very touching ending
