I liked this book more than the previous book in the series, and I liked how this one wrapped things up sufficiently enough that I felt like I could dip out of the rest of the series. My favorite things about these books were the interesting abilities and old photographs, but I think it was just a little too middle grade for my taste. I probably would have liked the series a lot more if I had read it during my middle-high school years, but the characters just felt a little too young and flat for me in general.

It's okay. I really like the first one, and it will probably always be a fav.
As the series goes on, I don't like Emma. ugh.
I do love all the old photographs though.

This was a fun and exciting finish to Ransom Riggs' trilogy about peculiar children. I found the books whimsical and zany full of evil masterminds with twisted diabolical plans and unique heroes gifted with bizarre strengths, courage and determination to make things right. I like not being normal myself. I embrace it fully. Thus it was easy and enjoyable to cheer on the peculiar within these pages, too.
