This felt like such a downer, and made me unsure about continuing the series when I checked how long the series actually was. I rated it highly because I do think that if I were in middle school this would have been my jam. It was nice to learn about more Peculiar abilities, creatures, and lore.
The whole thing was amazing and i dont have actual words to describe it! i found myself truly wanting to be apart of discovering these interesting peculiar loops and being terrified to be in the midst of their war as well as what was a very detailed depiction of London during WW2. The end had me emotionally all over the place and i am excited to jump into the 3rd book immediately!
For a sequel in a book series, Hollow City holds up strong to it's predecessor, with the plot developing in a way that upholds the magic of the first story, whilst also showing the harsh changes to the world that the children were also having to adjust to. Each character comes into their own, as they are unable (for the most part) to use their abilities, and instead work together. It is interesting to follow along on their adventure, as characters lose hope along with readers. The plot twist at the end of the novel was also very unexpected the first time it was read.
This wasn't as good as the first.
I like the photos used, and the kids are pretty funny.
The jokes and silliness made me lol
There was a lot of arguing.
