Top 10 Book Club Reads of 2024
The Women by Kristin Hannah
The beloved author (The Nightingale and others) returns with the epic story of a young woman gone to war. Following Frankie as she enlists in the Army Nurse Corps in Vietnam, and later returns home, The Women is at once an intimate portrait of coming of age in a dangerous time and an epic tale of a nation divided. Read by over two times the number of clubs as the next most popular book this year, The Women has already climbed to #5 on Bookclubs' list of the most popular book club books of all time, and was also the top rated book among this year's top 10.
First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston
This fast-paced thriller was a Reese's Book Club pick with a compelling premise: Evie Porter has everything a nice, Southern girl could want: a perfect, doting boyfriend, a house with a white picket fence and a garden, a fancy group of friends. The only catch: Evie Porter doesn't exist.
The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon
This gripping historical mystery, inspired by the life and diary of Martha Ballard, a renowned 18th-century midwife who investigates a shocking murder that unhinges her small community, was a Good Morning America book club pick.

James by Percival Everett
A brilliant, action-packed reimagining of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, both harrowing and ferociously funny, told from the enslaved Jim's point of view, this critically-acclaimed novel was the winner of this year's National Book Award and the Kirkus Prize for Fiction.
Funny Story by Emily Henry
Emily Henry novels are sure-fire, feel good hits. This year's story from the author of Happy Place centers two opposites who end up living together after their exes get together. And look out for Great Big Beautiful Life, coming next spring and one of our most anticipated book club books of 2025.
All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Whitaker
Set in small-town Missouri in 1975, All the Colors of the Dark, a Read With Jenna pick, is a missing person mystery, a serial killer thriller, and a love story all in one.

2024's top beach summer beach read! Rom-com queen Abby Jimenez is back with this story of a quick fling that just might turn into something more: two people with a "curse" -- everyone they date goes on to find their soulmate the second they break up -- come up with a plan to date each other and break up to cancel each other's curses out.
Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera
This GMA Book Club pick follows a woman who must return to her hometown after a huge hit true crime podcast focuses on her friend's murder. Lucy, who was found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend's blood, must investigate -- even if she was the one that did it.
