--Liane Moriarty, #1 New York Times bestselling author What if you thought you murdered your best friend? And if everyone else thought so too? And what if the truth doesn't matter? After Lucy is found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend Savvy's blood, everyone thinks she is a murderer. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It's been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can't remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life. But now the phenomenally huge hit true crime podcast "Listen for the Lie," and its too-good looking host Ben Owens, have decided to investigate Savvy's murder for the show's second season. Lucy is forced to return to the place she vowed never to set foot in again to solve her friend's murder, even if she is the one that did it. The truth is out there, if we just listen.

The truth doesn't matter.
Lucy and Savannah are best friends. Or, they were best friends. Savvy's dead now and everyone thinks Lucy did it. The trouble is, Lucy doesn't remember a thing about what happened.
Five years later, Lucy confronts her lack of memory with the help of Ben, the host of the Listen for the Lie podcast. Things get interesting between them as they work to uncover the truth about the murder and what Lucy can't or won't let herself remember.
I think what attracted me to this book was the podcast-in-a-book concept. I liked it when Lisa Jewell did it, so I was down for this ride. What kept me engaged was the (sometimes dark) humour and Lucy's grandmother. There were a couple of moments where the characters made surprising choices so that was fun.
I hoped for a more jaw-dropping reveal, but overall I was entertained.
WOW! I loved itâ¦
HAPPY PUBLICATION DAY, AMY!
When Lucyâs best friend is murdered after a wedding, Lucy finds herself the prime suspect. Though she canât remember what happened, sheâs declared guilty and starts a new life in LA. Years later, a true crime podcast reopens the case, forcing Lucy to revisit her doubts. She struggles internally, haunted by the memory of her old friend.
I truly enjoyed reading it! The writing was so smooth and easy, that getting lost in the story was nothing. The dialogue was well-balanced between humor and sass, it added a fitting amount of personality and style to the characters. Speaking of the characters, they were all beautifully imperfect in a way that made them seem like real people. I didnât have much choice, but to love them all. Also, we canât forget those addicting scandals, as they had me pushing my seat up and staying hooked on every word from beginning to end. This book was a real gem and I honestly recommend it to anyone in search of an entertaining and captivating read.
