Have you ever been wrong about someone?
Juno was wrong about Winnie Crouch.
Before moving in with the Crouch family, Juno thought Winnie and her husband, Nigel, had the perfect marriage, the perfect son--the perfect life. Only now that she's living in their beautiful house, she sees the cracks in the crumbling facade are too deep to ignore.
Still, she isn't one to judge. After her grim diagnosis, the retired therapist simply wants a place to live out the rest of her days in peace. But that peace is shattered the day Juno overhears a chilling conversation between Winnie and Nigel...
She shouldn't get involved.
She really shouldn't.
But this could be her chance to make a few things right.
Because if you thought Juno didn't have a secret of her own, then you were wrong about her, too.
From the wickedly dark mind of bestselling author Tarryn Fisher, The Wrong Family is a taut new thriller that's riddled with twists in all the right places.
"The Wrong Family is your new obsession. It's full of twists you'll never see coming and you'll be breathless until the end. Trust me: you've never read anything like this."--Colleen Hoover, #1 New York Times bestselling author

Umm...what? No. This story didn’t need to be written. I was bored 70% of it, then something interesting happened only for me to be bored and annoyed by the epilogue.
It was a decent book. A bit of a twist at the end. The main thing I got from it is to mind your business.
Well... Where do I start. First off at the beginning of the book I was very bored with listening to it. It was just an ok book for me. This is my first Tarryn Fisher read and I'm not sure if I will ever pick up another book of hers. Toward the middle the book starts to pick up but quickly declines the further you get into the book and honestly the last few chapters are straight trash.
Secondly, I have soo many questions and no answers. The writing style is weird and overall boring. I find the way the author describes the characters is a little overboard and honestly a big TMI. I feel like the author spends too much time will filler story that didn't need to be added
Finally, the only really interesting part of the book was Juno swatting in the couples house and it gives you very spooky vibes. I liked the part where Juno started messing around with Winnie because Winnie was my least favorite character. The book had potential but unfortunately came up short.

Tarryn has truly reached a whole new level of peak thriller writer.
This work is superb. Writing wise this is her best yet. I found myself constantly saying wow, this is from a well seasoned thriller author.
If we know Fisher, which many of us do, we know she has the chops due to her backlist. But wow, the prose and syntax in itself is just astonishing.
Story wise, I sometimes felt disconnected, but I can truly say that is a personal feeling of where my headspace is. Maybe because I called it all as the story went along, not sure if I can actually pin point.
But immaculate writing just wow.

The first 3/4 of the book wasn’t very climactic, unless you count the homeless woman secretly living in a closet then crawl space and who used to be a therapist but went to prison for crossing too many lines with her patients and who was now stalking the random family whose house she was squatting in. Several storylines going on at once and all were jacked up. A decent read, but there are several times when the author randomly used crass terms and they didn’t flow or and anything to the book. Book #17 in 2024
