The Wives: A Domestic Thriller

From the author of Never Never, co-written with Colleen Hoover!

#1 New York Times bestselling author Tarryn Fisher delivers a pulse-pounding, fast-paced suspense novel that will leave you breathless--an instant bestselling thriller you won't be able to put down!

Imagine that your husband has two other wives.

You've never met the other wives. None of you know each other, and because of this unconventional arrangement, you can see your husband only one day a week. But you love him so much you don't care. Or at least that's what you've told yourself.

But one day, while you're doing laundry, you find a scrap of paper in his pocket--an appointment reminder for a woman named Hannah, and you just know it's another of the wives.

You thought you were fine with your arrangement, but you can't help yourself: you track her down, and, under false pretenses, you strike up a friendship. Hannah has no idea who you really are. Then Hannah starts showing up to your coffee dates with telltale bruises, and you realize she's being abused by her husband. Who, of course, is also your husband. But you've never known him to be violent, ever.

Who exactly is your husband, and how far would you be willing to go to find out?

And who is his mysterious third wife?

It took me the longest time to figure out that the protagonist in the book's name is "Thursday." She's the second of three wives for her husband, Seth. She asks Seth about the other wives, but he just calls them Monday and Tuesday. She is obsessed with her husband, and only sees him on Thursday nights and he's gone in the morning before she wakes up. She starts to get curious about the other wives when she finds a receipt for a doctor visit for Monday. So she stalks her, and finds out that this arrangement with Seth might be a little more involved. At first, it appears that Seth is physically abusing Monday, and she's pregnant. This book really kept me guessing, and I wasn't sure if Thursday was crazy, or whether Seth was lying, or what was going on. It turns out it was a little of both, and at the end, when Thursday is incarcerated/institutionalized for shooting Seth, you find out that it was a lot of crazy, and a lot of lies. The ending, where she meets wife #1, Tuesday, and then jumps across the table at her and starts attacking her, is the crazy end of the book that I didn't expect.

Very unsuspecting ending. I could not put it down. Not a huge spoiler… but finding out her name was Thursday put me on the edge of my seat.
