Christina Lauren can be hit or miss for me. I enjoyed The Soulmate Equation, which I thought had a really fun premise. This book follows the best friend from that story (though it stands alone) and adds in a reality TV show and an ode to romance novels.
Any plot that involves a dating show producer getting involved with the lead is automatically going to get compared to the tv show UnREAL for me. The first season of that show was just SO good and while it obviously had a much darker tone than this book it still felt way sexier in the will they/won't they unresolved tension department. This book just felt a little boring.
So damn cute! I really enjoyed this book! I loved the main female character and her vivacious thirst for happiness. I loved the side characters and the love interest and the passion. It was like a cozy hug of a book.
I loved this book. I was so giddy reading this. It made me so happy to watch Fizzy and Connor find love. I was a little hesitant reading the synopsis of the book because game show? Really? But it was cute but serious and Christina once again proves she can write about any trope no matter how unpopular and make it into a beautiful love story that has me raising my standards of men with every page. I was unaware that the Soulmate Connection was connected to this and first in the series, but I am so happy because I fell in love with all the characters and wanted more. To the Soulmate Connection I go!
I felt like this book would never end. It felt so long to me. The best parts of this book for the sexy. Other than that, this is the worst Christina Lauren book Iâve ever read. The story just didnât hold my interest at all.
