In a Holidaze
Jam-packed with yuletide cheer, an unforgettable cast of characters, and Christina Lauren’s trademark “downright hilarious” (Helen Hoang, author of The Bride Test) hijinks, this swoon-worthy romantic read will make you believe in the power of wishes and the magic of the holidays.

Funny book. I totally predicted the ended INCORRECTLY at the beginning and read the whole book thinking I'd be right. Now I need to re-read it without that preconceived notion.
I listened to this as an audiobook for my work book club. Admittedly, it's not my usual read, but it wasn't too long and, it was engaging. However, I am very disappointed at the pairing and final direction of the romance, I won't name names to avoid spoils but :(
I never read blurbs anymore, so I was pleasantly surprised at the sci-fi time loops in the plot. Unfortunately, they don't play a huge part in the story, and are quickly brushed off and is a romance as expected...I'm just saying, it was a good set up for more dramatic developments and angst. Also, I thought the romance escalated WAY too quickly - 36 hours????? I could not even imagine.
It's very late and I'm half sick and don't know why I'm trying to review a book. But these are my unfiltered head empty thoughts on this.
Would recommend to anybody who is looking for a seasonal read featuring many many x-mas activities and traditions, and a childhood friends to lovers trope!! It wasn't for me, but I can see it being for many others! Enjoy, have fun!

Our group wasn't super into this one. They felt that it was a very predictable plot and that it was lacking with more substance. The main character's dilemma could have been more detailed (we expected more redo's) and some of the group doesn't enjoy a third act breakup - again predictable in this trope.
