The Teacher

A mind-bending, psychological thriller from Freida McFadden, the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of The Housemaid!

Lesson #1: trust no one

Eve has a good life. She gets up each day, gets a kiss from her husband Nate, and heads off to teach math at the local high school. All is as it should be. Except…

Last year, Caseham High was rocked by a scandal involving a student-teacher affair, with one student, Addie, at its center. But Eve knows there is far more to these ugly rumors than meets the eye.

Addie can't be trusted. She lies. She hurts people. She destroys lives. At least, that's what everyone says.

But nobody knows the real Addie. Nobody knows the secrets that could destroy her. And Addie will do anything to keep it quiet.

Another decently good read (listen) from Freida McFadden. A few good twists - some of them were easier to predict than others. My only complaint is the audiobook version - the one reading Addy - her voice was often so whiny. It probably fit the character, but as I continued to listen, it just started grating on my nerves. Probably would have enjoyed this one more had I read it instead of listened.

I don't know anymore. The first major plot twist in this story was absolutely disturbing to digest, it really grossed me out. Nothing could have prepared me for that feeling and how much I did not like this book in the slightest, just a bunch of horrible people. Even the dead.

I thought I had all the twists of this book figured out but Freida McFadden strikes again! I did not see the final twist coming! She’s amazing at keeping you on your toes. Even when I thought I had all the details pinned down, she throws me out on a loop and makes me question what I thought I knew. Amazing!
