I needed a day to process this book. It would have been a 5 star read for me had the last 10% of the book not exist. Because what the actual f**k was that Rebecca?!?!?!?!

There was absolutely no reason to kill that character. WHY? I mean WHY?! How tragic. How cruel?!!!
My friend Kayleigh said “what in Colleen Hoover?!” When I told her what happened. I’m pissed.

My first Yarros book and thought the premise was too predictable and forced. As a reader, I felt completely smacked in the face with unrelenting tragedy, loss, and sadness, yet there was a love story buried in there?! It bumped to 3 stars for the research and thoughtfulness she did around childhood cancer, as well as the military storyline because it's something she knows all to well with her husband being deployed and serving our country. I thought this was a boo and not its intentioned boohoo...
It’s a well written book. Emotional. But it’s a bit slow, yet I was still compelled to finish it. I do recommend it.
I balled my eyes out omg

The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros
Published: February 26, 2019
I don’t know where to begin. This was the first book I’ve read that, I can honestly say, will emotionally stay with me for a VERY long time. This story captivates you from the very first chapter and just continues to pull you in deeper with each page turned.
Yarros’ story is about two main characters on their journey to finding true love. Told in a dual perspective of the MCs via corresponding letters, where it initially began, and in the present day, it was so eloquently written that it allowed the reader to physically feel the same growing emotions the characters were experiencing.
The story development continually built, as did the characters. Allowing you to feel like you were physically in Telluride, Colorado and personally knew everyone, not just Beckett and Ella. Yarros even incorporated multiple twists that literally made you gasp. I felt every emotion from one end of the spectrum - happiness, laughter, and friendly appreciation, to endearing love, and strong passion. Just to later feel the opposite end of the spectrum filled with gut-wrenching fear, pain, and extreme heartbreak. It was an absolute whirlwind of a ride.
This is one beautiful journey that teaches the true meaning of love. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend it. If I could give it more stars I absolutely would!! Oh, one other thing…. HAVE YOUR KLEENEX READY. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
