This book will absolutely wreck you. Be prepared to ugly cry especially if you are a parent. You get attached to the characters.

It’s a good, well written story that captivates you from the beginning.
It would’ve been 5 stars had the ending not been overkill.
It’s like Rebecca hates hers main character and wanted to make her suffer the worst tragedies anyone could imagine CONSTANTLY.
Like Ella could not catch a break.
It made me cry, it’s very sad and emotional and tragic but I don’t necessarily think that makes it a good ending.

TikTok totally convinced me to read it, and I’m so glad I gave it a shot. Romance isn’t usually my genre, but this book? It wrecked me—in the best possible way. It’s emotional, suspenseful, and deeply layered. The story blends grief, love, and forgiveness in a way that feels raw and real. At one point, I had to literally pause, lock my Kindle, and just breathe because I was sobbing. Not tearing up—sobbing. It’s rare for a book to hit that hard. What makes it unforgettable is how it captures the messiness of life and love. These characters aren’t perfect, but they fight for each other, and that makes every moment hit even harder. It’s not an emotionally easy read, but if you're in the mood for something that will wreck you emotionally and stay with you, this one’s it. Tissues required. No exceptions.

There is a reason I don’t tend to read summaries and don’t want to see spoilers, because experiencing a story fully is something so special. I’m not blind, I’ve seen the media revolving around this book, so I knew it would be sad but I am here to say, sad is an understatement. This book is straight up devastating. My heart was torn apart reading this.. in the most beautiful way. There are so many different “parts” so to speak - our characters and their strong, adoring relationships, the various levels of grief and trauma to overcome, the realistic and harsh parts of life like financial struggles and of course love, romantic and otherwise. I don’t think there was ever a point where I wasn’t completely immersed in this book. I devoured it and even after finishing I have this deep feeling in my chest that has me actively reminding myself that “it’s just a book.” There are so few stories that have made me feel that way and although I hate the fact that I was put through that, I also loved every second. This is one of those books that I wouldn’t know how to explain to someone who isn’t a reader, but for those who are, you’ll know, and you should pick this one up.

I cried like so many others who have read the book. I also really enjoyed the character development and growth.
