Book club questions for The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros
Use these discussion questions to guide your next book club meeting.
What did you think of Yarros' use of the letters between Ella and Chaos? Did you like getting to read them? What did you think of the way that they were presented out of order, but each tied in with a chapter?
Why did Beckett hide the truth from Ella? Was Ella correct to initially cut him out of her family's life when she found out the truth? If you were in her shoes, would you be able to get past that?
Why does Beckett not believe that he's worth of love? How does he eventually come to accept love?
What is behind Ella's trust issues when it comes to men? Was she justified in her distrust? How did she eventually move past it with Beckett?
What were some of your favorite moments from the growing bond between Beckett, Maisie and Colt?
In general, the book is full of lots of grief and loss. How much (and where) did you cry? Can there be too much tragedy in a book (especially a romance)?
Ugh, the ending (cries buckets). The [major spoiler alert] death in the last 10% of the novel has been very divisive for readers. Did you feel like it was an integral (if heartbreaking) part of the story, or did you feel like it was tacked on for shock value?
