Local Woman Missing

People don't just disappear without a trace ...

Shelby Tebow is the first to go missing. Not long after, Meredith Dickey and her six-year-old daughter, Delilah, vanish just blocks away from where Shelby was last seen, striking fear into their once-peaceful community. Are these incidents connected? After an elusive search that yields more questions than answers, the case eventually goes cold.

Now, eleven years later, Delilah shockingly returns. Everyone wants to know what happened to her, but no one is prepared for what they'll find ...

In this smart and chilling thriller, master of suspense and New York Times bestselling author Mary Kubica takes domestic secrets to a whole new level, showing that some people will stop at nothing to keep the truth buried.

I thought it was an interestingly written book, bouncing between characters. It was a little difficult to orient yourself to at first, but it's okay once you get used to it.

The ending wasn't great. A little bit happily ever after.

Three different events happen toward the beginning of this book, and I couldn’t figure out what truly happened until it all started unfolding toward the end.

I listened to this via audiobook, it was an easy listen, my mind didn’t wander, it kept my attention the entire time. It also helps that I’m into True Crime podcasts and documentaries. This book gave me what I’ve been wanting in terms of mystery/thriller fiction, but with a True Crime twist to it. I’ve always been super intrigued when people have been found after missing for years.

If you're into True Crime, this may be a book you’d like.

Wow. Wasn’t expecting the twist of this book. I really appreciated the storytelling of each character and the author did an incredible job of highlighting the personalities of each point of view. A page-turner that I could hardly put down.

It was ok. Yeah…just ok. A lot of run around for a twisted ending.

This books starts off quick! Immediately something happens to a woman on a dark road and we can only surmise that it’s something terrible, then we go to a little girl locked in a basement and she’s been there for YEARS, and then we’re bouncing around the timeline and different POVs and it’s a ride! There are twists and there are surprises. I couldn’t put it down!
