Just the Nicest Couple: A Novel

Well folks… I don’t have much to say about this one, but here’s an opinion anyways. I struggled to get through this. It was a failed attempt at a Thriller. I was hoping the ending would save it. It did not. In short, don’t waste your time. Don’t knock the author though, this just isn’t one of her best. ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars #justthenicestcouple #marykubica #bookreview

I enjoyed this book much more than The Good Girl but not as much as Local Woman Missing. It kept my attention rather quickly, though, which was great (I listened to the audio version) because we had just come off a slower novel and this quick paced, up tempo story was a great change. I think the final twists at the end were interesting, and it was another one of those "you just don't know people or their true self" type of stories from Kubica. She always seems to give us a wild turn that makes you go "What?!" I was sad that some of the characters had the ending they had (no spoilers in this review!), but I was also pleased that she kept things as close to real life as possible for a couple in that scenario. Great read. Would definitely read it again!

It was a struggle to get through this book. It was slow until the very end.

Ehhhh. It went back and forth between holding my attention and losing it. I had to skip to the end and finish it around halfway through.

Not a big fan of this one. Was too slow and I felt like there were a lot of plot points that went unanswered
