It Ends with Us: Special Collector's Edition: A Novel (It Ends with Us)

NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE STARRING BLAKE LIVELY AND JUSTIN BALDONI!
A special hardcover collector’s edition of It Ends with Us—featuring an exclusive Q&A between Colleen Hoover and her mother, a beautiful foil cover, and newly designed endpapers—from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Starts with Us.
Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. And when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life seems too good to be true.
Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.
As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.
An honest, evocative, and tender novel, It Ends with Us is “a glorious and touching read, a forever keeper. The kind of book that gets handed down” (USA TODAY).

Look, I get the hate this book got, but here's why I don't care. It was a f***ing good book, and I couldn't put it down. Not all books need to be making a politically correct statement. It is fiction, after all. I don't support domestic abuse any more than I did before reading this book... I also feel like CoHo wrote the characters as deeply flawed people for a reason. It's realistic and gut-wrenching, as it should be.

I have a lot of thoughts on this book but I'm not entirely sure how to put them together. I didn't love this book but it's not a bad book.
I'm sad that Ryle ended up being so abusive but I felt like that was obvious with their first meeting. I wish he wasnt such a piece of crap because he also didn't seem like one. I hate that they had so many great times and if it was for his anger issues and his abuse I would have loved for them to end together. I'm proud of Lily for leaving but I'm disappointed she stayed with him so long and married him. I feel like they had a lot of communication issues ahead of time as well.
I'm also upset that the entire time she's with Ryle who she loves she's stuck obsessing over feelings she had of her ex even before she even ran back into him. I guess I saw the ending coming but it still makes me mad. Atlas seems like a great guy and I understand having those past feelings of love and belonging but not when you are in a relationship.
I don't know if I even really like Lily that much but the best part of this book was Alyssa and Marshal. I loved them and I love their support of Lily.

Coming out of a book coma and bracing for the inevitable hangover to come that only a book that truly caresses your soul and invokes every human emotion can give you. Usually I am lining up my next read quickly after I have finished a book, often times as soon as the same day. But this book not only demands reflection and decompression...it deserves it. Mad love and respect for #ColleenHoover #ItEndsWithUs #IEWU
