Mary does it again.
I didn't see ANY OF THIS coming! OMG! Girl, the whiplash I get is absolutely insane. Great story!

Another great suspense novel from Mary Kubica. Two alternating storylines weave back & forth to create an addictive read of betrayal & obsession. In downtown Chicago, Esther disappears without a trace leaving her roommate, Quinn, to piece together why/when/how. Esther's search causes her to question just how well she knew her roommate. At the same time, in a small Michigan town, a young Alex is working as a dishwasher & trying to care for his alcoholic father when a mysterious woman appears in the coffee shop where he works. He is immediately drawn to her but soon realizes his "crush" has a history way more creepy than he could ever imagine & it all unravels to close to home for him. Of course, the stories are going to merge but not until the very end. Loved this book. Especially liked Alex. He was just so good-a smart kid who had a hard life, was trying to do the right thing. I liked Quinn also-she was a bit funny & not the brightest when she was trying to put things together.
This was the first Kubica novel I have disliked. It was so slow to start and then the twists were just so unbelievable. It was a dual storyline and they did not fit together well. Wouldn’t recommend. 2/10
I loved her first two books, The Good Girl and Pretty Baby. This book was just okay for me. I didn't really feel connected with the characters. I think it was the narration. If the same story had been told from Ester's point of view, I think it would have been a better book.

Eh. It was great...and it wasn’t. The end was awesome. The beginning, drove me nuts!
So Don’t You Cry is about this girl, Quinn, who wakes up from a night of partying in her bed goes about her business and eventually discovers that her roommate Esther is not home. I’m not gonna draw it out the way they drew it out cause it was about two chapters before they finally come out and Quinn has a newsflash that “Oh my God, Esther is missing!” Quinn, by the way, is an idiot. Realize your roommate is missing and you do…absolutely nothing but walk around in circles giving reasons why you shouldn’t call her job or the police or her non-existing family.
The book is told from two different points of view. Every chapter it flip-flops. Y'all know how much I ADORE movies and books that jump around in the timeline and from his and her point of view. That’s sarcasm, by the way, I know it doesn’t translate well on screen. I loathe dual point of view entertainment. It drives me up the wall.
Read it. The ending was kind of like what the hell, ok, outta left field, but it all tied in nicely. It’s like a not so intense version of Crash, but in my opinion, Crash was better put together. This was still a good read.
I liked it, but some parts annoyed the hell out of me. Oh well, it’s over now.
