I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would, I really never pictured myself reading a book with horse's but it really was a good read. I've even found myself calling my pets "pretty girl" and "pretty boy" 🤣 it's really rubbed off. Still felt myself rolling my eyes at sections but sometimes thats fun hahaha
I liked the twists and felt it handled delicate topics well, would definitely recommend it and will be looking to read more from Elsie.
This was my first Elsie Silver book and I am now obsessed with reading all her books 👏🏻
I haven’t read a small town romance in so long and this was great. It wasn’t just set in a place close to wear I grew up irl which was a nice surprise but the characters were great. Grumpy/ Sunshine is one of my favourite tropes and Elsie did a good job unthawing Cole’s heart. Violet was the perfect cross between sassy and sweet that it was genuine and real. I want to read the rest of her books now.
So i did enjoy this one, the characters had depth and were thoroughly thought out. I wasn't a huge fan of the 'third act separation' i really wanted to punch Violet. I understand where she was coming from but i disliked the way she did so. I would have like to have seen Cole learning to ride a horse again and bonding with Billie, which i think was a big oversight in terms of the story. I think it could have been done and also the proposal and birth, which was only vaguely addressed in the epilogue, i would have loved to have seen them together and interacting with Vaughn and Billie as a couple.
Overall it was a solid book but i feel like it didn't quite hit it's potential for the story as a whole.
