The idea: 

To create the bond that comes with sharing a common interest, reading. To build a sense of community with good people that share their opinions and thoughts on varying topics. To weave conversations bursting with dialogue that pushes the boundaries of our lived and thought-out experiences. Whether a simple conversation, or a deeply complex one, from a focal point of being there in good faith. To crave the possibility of holding many different thoughts at once and, explore them. 

Reading a book, is an act of a meditative practice. A self isolated interest you choose in a world that constantly asks you to give to others (your time, your money, your inner peace). The deliberate choice to read in this world for yourself, is selfish, in a good way. 

And then share that process of reading and exploring a topic with people who have done the same. Everyone bringing a slice of their experience to a group, to make a whole. To make a community.
