About Silent Reading Club at California Botanic Garden
Calling all book lovers! Silent Reading Club has a new start time of 10:00 AM. Come read with fellow friends of nature in the Garden. No assigned books, no forced chit-chat: each Meetup will feature c. 20 mins for optional informal discussion of current book choices and recommendations, followed by silent reading in community. Reading location will change each month (indoor spaces provided in case of rain). CalBG will provide folding chairs, but we highly recommended that readers bring their own comfy camp chair if possible.
The Silent Reading Club Meetup is free with garden admission. We welcome walk-ins, but you can help us plan by RSVPing ahead of time. If you need to purchase a garden admission ticket, click here.
California Botanic Garden is the largest botanic garden dedicated to California native plants, promoting botany, conservation and horticulture to inspire, inform and educate the public and scientific community about California's native flora. Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, the Garden is a living museum with curated collections of more than 22,000 California native plants, some of which are rare or endangered. Spread across 86 acres in Claremont, California, the Garden is located approximately 35 miles east of Los Angeles. The Garden displays about 1170 taxa of California plants and includes those native to the California Floristic Province.
