About Black Women Read Between The Wines
📚 Black Women Read Between the Wines — Vision & Goals
🌟 Our Goal
To build a vibrant community where Black women can celebrate literature, sisterhood, and self-care. We’re more than a book club — we’re a family. A space to connect, reflect, and grow through shared stories, wine nights, and conversations that matter.
⸻
🤝 Who We’re Hoping to Meet
• Black women who love to read — whether you sip slow like a Lil Cousin 🍇, hold it down like a Big Sis 🌸, or pour it up like a Rich Auntie 👑.
• Women looking for a safe, uplifting, and empowering space to share thoughts and experiences.
• Readers who enjoy mixing good books with good vibes — laughter, honesty, and sisterhood.
• Those who want to explore diverse voices and stories that reflect our culture, challenges, and triumphs.
⸻
💻 What We’ll Do at Virtual Events
• 📖 Book Discussions: Fun, thought-provoking conversations about our current reads.
• 🍷 Wine & Words Nights: Pair books with wine or mocktail suggestions.
• ✨ Author Chats: Guest speakers and Q&As with authors.
• 🎲 Game Nights: Trivia, icebreakers, and themed activities.
• 🔄 Bonus Reads: Optional “extra pours” for the avid readers.
⸻
🥂 What We’ll Do at In-Person Events (Tampa & Local)
• 🍷 Sip & Discuss Meetups: Gather at cozy spots or wine bars.
• 🎭 Themed Nights: Harlem Nights, seasonal vibes, food + wine pairings.
• 🌸 Workshops & Retreats: Journaling, wellness, or vision board parties tied to our themes.
• 🎤 Annual Weekend: Panels, guest authors, and wine tastings.
• 📚 Community Give-Backs: Partner with schools/libraries for book drives or literacy projects.
⸻
🗓 When We Meet
• Every other Tuesday at 6:30 PM (biweekly)
• Meetings run no longer than 60 minutes
📖 What We Read
Stories that inspire, empower, and entertain — across genres like black romance, mystery, thriller, African American historical fiction, crime fiction, motivational, and more.
⸻
✨ Participation Guidelines
• Come ready to share your thoughts — we love real, unfiltered reactions.
• Respect all opinions (and no spoilers beyond assigned chapters).
• Stay engaged between meetings — drop quotes, memes, or reflections in the chat.
💃🏾 Special Tradition
We celebrate the completion of every book with an in-person meetup.
💌 How We Communicate
• Group text for quick updates
• Social media for photos, highlights, and vibes
⸻
✨ Our Vibe
Good books. Good drinks. Great conversations. A space where Black women laugh, connect, uplift, and remind each other that no matter your pour — Auntie, Big Sis, or Cousin — you belong at the table. 🥂📚
