About Black Women Read Between The Wines

📚 Black Women Read Between the Wines — Vision & Goals

🌟 Our Goal
To create a vibrant community where Black women celebrate literature, sisterhood, and self-care. We’re more than a book club — we’re a family. A space to connect, reflect, and grow through stories, laughter, and conversations that matter.

🫶🏾 Who We’re Hoping to Meet
• Casual + avid readers
• Women who love good books + good vibes
• Readers ready for laughter, honesty, and connection
• Women looking for a safe, uplifting, and empowering space to share thoughts and experiences.
• Readers who enjoy mixing good books with good vibes — honesty, laughter, and sisterhood.
• Fun + safe space — No Men allowed 🚫
• While our community centers and celebrates Black women, readers of all cultures and backgrounds are welcome to join us in love, respect, and solidarity.

💻 Our Virtual Club
We are first and foremost a virtual book club that meets biweekly. As a group we vote on all book selections through polls. Starting January, we’ll read 1 book every 2 months (6 per year) with optional bonus reads for our avid readers.

At virtual meetings, you can expect:
• 📖 Engaging chapter discussions
• 🎲 Fun games & icebreakers (Wine or Whine, trivia, themed bingo)
• ✨ Guest author chats & Q&As
• 🍷 Optional wine/mocktail and song pairings to match our reads

🥂 In-Person Celebrations (Tampa)
While we’re virtual nationwide, we gather in Tampa for celebrations after finishing each book. These include:
• 🍷 Sip & Discuss meetups at local spots
• 🎭 Themed events
• 🌸 Wellness & creative workshops
• 📚 Annual weekend with panels, guest authors, and wine tastings

🗓 When We Meet
• Every other Tuesday at 6:30 PM EST (biweekly, 60 minutes max)
• Celebration meetups in Tampa after each completed book

📖 What We Read
We explore Black romance, mystery, thriller, African American historical fiction, motivational, and more.

✨ Participation Guidelines
• Be respectful — no interrupting, no talking over others.
• Listen with care and allow space for all voices.
• No spoilers beyond assigned chapters.
• Stay engaged — share quotes, memes, or reflections when you can.

💃🏾 Tradition
We celebrate the end of every book with an in-person Tampa meetup.

💌 How We Communicate
Bookclubs.com — to track our reads, manage polls, retrieve book recaps & announcements, and centralize schedules.
• Microsoft Teams (optional) — for members who want extra spaces to chat, join bonus reads, or get announcements and book recaps in real time.
• Social Media — for highlights, spotlights, and event updates.

✨ Our Vibe
Good books. Good conversations. Great sisterhood. No matter your pour, you belong at the table. 🥂📚
