Discussion & Etiquette

• Read the book: Members are encouraged to read the full book to support thoughtful and meaningful discussion.
  
• Listen with respect: Allow others to speak without interruption and approach all conversations with openness and care.
  
• Speak thoughtfully: Share perspectives honestly and respectfully. Discussions should honor differing viewpoints and remain focused on the book rather than personal criticism.
  
• Make Space: Be mindful of whose voices are being heard. Make space for everyone to speak and avoid speaking over or dismissing others’ experiences.
  
• Stay on topic: Keep conversations grounded in the book, its themes, and related reflections.

Club Structure & Logistics

• Shared book selection: Books will be chosen using a fair and collaborative process, with an emphasis on works by and about women of color.
  
• Regular meetings: Meetings will be held on a consistent schedule agreed upon by the group.
  
• Intentional group size: Membership may be limited to maintain a comfortable, engaging discussion environment.
  
• Discussion leadership: The member who selects the book will help facilitate the conversation and guide key discussion points.
  

Community & Participation

• Foster community: The club values connection, joy, and mutual support alongside literary discussion.
