Morbidly Curious: New Orleans

Welcome to the New Orleans chapter of The Morbidly Curious Book Club! We’re an 18+ nonfiction group that dives headfirst into the macabre corners of literature, exploring subjects like true crime, morally ambiguous medical practices, the paranormal, and, of course, death. Join us in unearthing dark tales from history and uncovering the ethically complex and haunting stories that live on the shadowed shelves of our libraries.

How It Works:

We meet monthly to discuss a different book chosen by the group, and details on the book we’re currently reading can be found in the ‘Currently Reading’ tab. Meeting dates and locations are shared in the ‘Meeting’ tab—check back often!

A Few Requests:

Our readings are often intense, and each book comes with potentially heavy trigger warnings. Please review these in advance to ensure your comfort level. We foster a respectful and inclusive space, where everyone can engage with what they’re comfortable discussing.

There’s no pressure to finish every book or attend every meeting—come as you are, share what you feel, and explore the darker side of literature with us. We value kindness, understanding, and creating a supportive environment where everyone feels welcome, heard, and respected—no matter where you are on your journey.
