Kind of Spark

A Kind of Spark is a warm, inclusive online book club for readers who connect deeply with stories about identity, empathy, and belonging. Our group is autism-friendly and LGBT-friendly, and we value kindness, curiosity, and listening above all else. We’re proud to have author Kate S. Martin as our club’s Patron. Her work explores care, courage, and human connection — themes that inspire much of what we read and discuss together. 📚 What we read: We focus on YA and contemporary fiction that explores emotional honesty, social themes, and the quiet power of human connection. We often choose books that highlight under-represented voices — stories that make readers feel seen, heard, and understood. Our first featured title will be Are You Okay, Elliot Hart? by Kate S. Martin — a compassionate, layered story of caregiving, friendship, and self-discovery. 🗓️ Meetings: We meet once a month via Zoom, usually mid-week between 7 – 8 PM (UK time).
