War (The Four Horsemen, 2)

They came to earth--Pestilence, War, Famine, Death--four horsemen riding their screaming steeds, racing to the corners of the world. Four horsemen with the power to destroy all of humanity.
They came to earth, and they came to end us all.
The day Jerusalem falls to the horsemen, Miriam Elmahdy knows her life is over. Houses are burning, the streets run red with blood, and a traitorous army is massacring her people. There is no surviving this, especially not once Miriam catches the eye of War himself. But when the massive and terrifying horseman corners Miriam, he calls her his heaven-sent wife, and instead of killing her, he takes her back to his camp.
Now Miriam faces a terrifying future, helplessly watching her world burn town by town, and the one responsible for it is her seemingly indestructible "husband," who refuses to let her go. But there's another side to him, one that's gentle and loving and set on winning her over, and she might not be strong enough to resist.
However, if there's one thing Miriam has learned, it's that love and war cannot coexist. She must make the ultimate choice: surrender to War and watch humankind fall, or sacrifice everything to stop him.

However, I did thoroughly enjoy it! This had a great storyline, so many aspect in this story were amazing. War, oh boy what can I say, SEXY A$$ GOD! I loved how he kept calling her wife and Miriam kept saying Im not, it was cute and funny for me. Miriam is quick as a whip, she had a lot of one liners that made you laugh. These 2 had such chemistry and the sex scene were steamy....he did everything else to her but sex until she surrenderd....curled my toes. The build up between these two was really good, love how War started to change and the things he would do and the lengths he would go for her. When she finally does "Surrender", so steamy, sexy and tender. These 2 were very busy in the tent all the time :P The ending was great as well, even though you knew what was coming, you didnt get the details until the end. I love how the Laura Thalassa throws this twist on the Four Horsemen, makes you wonder.
Immediatly starting the next one in this series, Famine, excited to see how this one plays out.
But did I hate this? No, not at all. There were some nice moments, and I like the concept. I might even read the other three eventually, though I assume they're pretty much the same with slightly different characters and dynamics. It was silly brainless fun and well-paced despite nothing much actually happening and the character development and depth being pretty minimal.
