Bewitched (The Bewitched Series, 1)

She came to claim her power.
She awakened something ancient instead.
From bestselling indie author and TikTok favorite Laura Thalassa comes a deliciously witchy romantasy.
Selene Bowers is desperate to join Henbane Coven, the elite academy for witches. But power comes with a price, and hers demands a sacrifice: every time she uses magic, she loses a memory. And now, she may be forgetting something--or someone--crucial.
During her pre-initiation quest in the South American jungle, Selene's magic flares to save her life, awakening Memnon the Cursed, a long-dead villain who mistakes Selene for the wife who betrayed him.
Their connection is immediate. Dangerous. Unforgivable.
Selene escapes and makes it to Henbane, but when witches start turning up dead, all signs point to her. With no memories to defend herself, she turns to the one person who might hold the answers: Memnon. But his help comes with strings that could bind her fate forever...

I love Selene. What is a witch without her magic? It's not even a question for Selene not to use her magic despite what it costs her. Despite her acceptance of losing enormous pieces of herself, she does not wallow in self-pity. She is determined and resilient.
I was slightly confused after she met with the coven. A monumental task was thrust upon her and seemed to happen extremely quickly, plus the addition of Memnon. I would have expected those tasks to take some time; however, as I said, it's 100% a guilty pleasure, so I overlooked it.
Memnon is a roller coaster. I wanted to simultaneously love him and punch him, just like Selene. There are some twists I did not expect, AND THAT ENDING. THE GASP I GUSPED
