Okay, I'm hooked!

I haven't been this invested in a book since I read ACOTAR. It's SO GOOD. If you enjoy any of Sarah J. Maas's books, I highly recommend reading this series as well. I was a little on the fence at first. It flashes back and forth between present and past, when the FMC was underage. But rest assured, it doesn't end up being creepy or skeevy.

Trigger warning:
- past sexual assault / rape, discussed but not graphic
- flashbacks of child abuse & pedophilia, not graphic

Spice level: 3/5

Interesting story that had me ready to grab book2. Des knows how to yearn for his mate! There was a bit of spice, but the slow burn was top notch.

Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa was a refreshing and unique read that immediately grabbed my attention with its intriguing storyline. I hadn’t encountered anything quite like this before, and that originality really drew me in. The character development is top-notch, especially with the female main character—I felt a real connection with her as the story progressed. She’s complex, relatable, and easy to root for.

There were definitely moments of frustration along the way, where I wasn’t sure how things were going to unfold. The direction of the story wasn’t always obvious, which kept me on my toes and added to the suspense. That unpredictability made the journey even more captivating. If you’re looking for a story that’s a bit different and packed with well-developed characters, Rhapsodic is definitely worth checking out.
