Twisted Lies (Twisted, 4)

In the final instalment of this twisted series, readers are presented with the longest book yet, filled with familiar themes of impossible relationships that somehow manage to come to fruition. The story centres around Stella, the last remaining member of her friend group, who navigates life after Jules has moved out of their shared apartment in the Mirage. With her rent reduced by Christian, the landlord, on the condition that she cares for his houseplants, Stella struggles to advance her career. A suggestion arises for Stella to enter a fake relationship to boost her social media following and attract more work. She proposes this idea to Christian, who also needs a companion for events, and they agree to the arrangement, understanding that emotions and intimacy are off the table. Stella is particularly motivated by the need to financially support her former nanny, Maura, whose care home fees are rising. Having been raised by Maura during a tumultuous childhood, Stella sees her as a mother figure. As the plot unfolds, Stella faces the unsettling presence of a stalker, adding tension to her life. Following a disturbing break-in at her apartment, she moves in with Christian, and their relationship begins to deepen. While Christian works to uncover the stalker's identity, the romance develops slowly, though some readers may wish it had started sooner. Ultimately, the conclusion offers a satisfying glimpse into the future, revealing the fates of Stella, Christian, and the other characters, leaving readers content without needing further instalments.

I very much enjoyed Stella & Christian’s story! I liked the mystery both of these characters bring and their connection is yet again a different one in this series. I love a fake dating trope so I was intrigued by where their relationship was going to end up. It’s a slower burn with seemingly less spice, especially compared to book 3. What I love most about standalone series like this one is that you get connections to the other books throughout so I loved getting a taste of the other three couples throughout this book. Overall, I liked this one but I do think I need to switch up my genres a little. I have gone heavy with romances lately because of a handful of reasons but as much as I love the cliches I think I need a little break for now.

loved reading this book. it's the last book of the twisted series by Ana Huang. the character development, the heart ache, the spice level, the connections between the other books and upcoming ones (aka; kinf of sin series)...it was truly amazing.

I love Ana Huang's writing, but this plot just didn't do it for me and neither did the characters. Probably my least favorite of the Twisted series. Fun steamy scenes though!
