Twisted Games (Twisted, 2)

From New York Times bestselling author and BookTok sensation Ana Huang comes a contemporary royal romance!

Stoic, broody, and arrogant, elite bodyguard Rhys Larsen has two rules: 1) Protect his clients at all costs 2) Do not become emotionally involved. Ever.

He has never once been tempted to break those rules...until her.

Bridget von Ascheberg. A princess with a stubborn streak that matches his own and a hidden fire that reduces his rules to ash. She's nothing he expected and everything he never knew he needed.

Day by day, inch by inch, she breaks down his defenses until he's faced with a truth he can no longer deny: he swore an oath to protect her, but all he wants is to ruin her. Take her.

Because she's his.

His princess.

His forbidden fruit.

His every depraved fantasy.

Regal, strong-willed, and bound by the chains of duty, Princess Bridget dreams of the freedom to live and love as she chooses.

But when her brother abdicates, she's suddenly faced with the prospect of a loveless, politically expedient marriage and a throne she never wanted.

And as she navigates the intricacies-and treacheries-of her new role, she must also hide her desire for a man she can't have.

Her bodyguard.

Her protector.

Her ultimate ruin.

Unexpected and forbidden, theirs is a love that could destroy a kingdom...and doom them both.

Do not become emotionally involved. Ever.

These books are very straight forward and stick with the same theme of the strong, protective and possessive love interest. If that is what you enjoy than you will enjoy this book series as I did.

I finally emotionally connected to the characters in the second half of the book. After that emotional turning point I found myself enjoying the direction the book was heading.
I think the steam was very delicious and I also liked how everything wrapped up in the end!

I liked this one so much more than the first one! I not only enjoyed the forbidden love trope more than the brother’s best friend one, I thoroughly enjoyed these characters more. I just never truly got attached to Alex and Ava in Twisted Lies, but Rhys and Bridget are *chefs kiss*. I found Bridget classy yet normal for being a royal and I felt for her when she becomes crowned princess and knows that she’s going to end up being queen so her life would be changing forever. then there’s Rhys!!! 0MG I am obsessed with him!! He’s tattooed, dark, sexy and handsome plus the ex-military thing makes him a protector which makes him extra dreamy. The spice was top-notch which really helped me over the hump of my little slump from the move. happy to be back into my reading routine, and already have Twisted Hate downloaded. Very excited to see what’s up with Jules and Josh’s enemies to lovers.

Meh, was ok story line. Not as well written as the first. Main male character has the same smut tendencies as first book. Female narrator whisper talks and it’s annoying.
