The best thing about this was the narration, but even Adam Lazarre-White couldn’t save this dumpster fire.
This was a big book of nothingness. It was extremely boring and full of plot holes. And, it is pretty much the same plot of Perfect Marriage.
Sarah “the husband killer” loved to call her soon to be ex-husband a narcissist and you’d think she’d recognize one when she was the biggest narc of all. Killing someone and pinning it on someone else to take the fall will NEVER be an enjoyable story story for me because it just hits too close to my Black roots.
The fact that this book has an avg rating over 4 stars baffles me, but then I remind myself that everyone has different tastes. And that’s ok…but I know that Jeneva has a huge social following and that has to play apart in the appeal. Likability goes a long way!
As for me, it was a complete waste of my time and of a FREE credit 😏
i liked it more than perfect marriage, but i still feel like there was way too much happening at once. and i wish she would’ve focused more on sarah’s perspective instead of rushing it at the end.
“Two people can keep a secret as long as one of them is dead.” This was a perfect follow up book full of twists and turns. The obvious wasn’t as obvious as it seemed. Short and to the point, this book kept my interest and I didn’t want to put it down until it was finished.
The sequel did not disappoint! Read this in less than a week which is fast for me! Great twists that kept me intrigued until the end
I was so excited for Jeneva to drop the sequel to her first book in this series. I was captivated with A Perfect Marriage; everything from her writing style, the plot, the pace, the twists, the characters and how real they felt, made it a satisfying read that I couldn't stop thinking about for weeks. I was sorely disappointed when I read this book though. It felt rushed and didn't spend enough time developing the characters to invest in any outcome. There were too many new people and the story felt convoluted and dull at times.
