The Lovely Bones

"My name was Salmon, like the fish; first name, Susie. I was fourteen when I was murdered on December 6, 1973."
So begins the story of Susie Salmon, who is adjusting to her new home in heaven, a place that is not at all what she expected, even as she is watching life on earth continue without her -- her friends trading rumors about her disappearance, her killer trying to cover his tracks, her grief-stricken family unraveling. Out of unspeakable tragedy and loss, The Lovely Bones succeeds, miraculously, in building a tale filled with hope, humor, suspense, even joy.

I cant say anything about this book that someone else hasn't. It did leave me feeling conflicted and upset and emotionally drained.
Tragic and brilliant.
I loved both the book and the movie. The movie makes me cry like a baby, since I already knew the ending the book did not have the same effect on me. Regardless I think this may be one of my favorites.
I can't put this book down! It's incredible.

Liked it. The story of Susie Salmon's family after her murder- the story is told by Susie from her heaven, she shows her murder and the family happenings- the split up and getting back together of her parents and her sister blossoming from childhood.
