Upon discovering this book, it seemed to have a lot of promise and potential. The idea of a story from the perspective of a murdered girl, watching her family move on and try solve the crime, seemed like an interesting read. I really enjoyed this book even though it was such a bittersweet read. I was afraid that I wouldn’t feel closure as I got toward the end, but the author ended the book beautifully. It felt a little slow and drawn out in the middle which is why I docked one star. Someone told me recently that it’s a classic and honestly, it does feel that way. So I’ll continue to describe it as such.
I loved both the book and the movie. The movie makes me cry like a baby, since I already knew the ending the book did not have the same effect on me. Regardless I think this may be one of my favorites.
