I loved this series. Like, could not put it down, stayed up way too late, immediately needed the next book loved it.
Rebecca Yarros knows exactly how to hook you—high-stakes world, brutal training, dragons (!!!), and just enough emotional damage to keep you fully invested. The pacing is relentless in the best way. There’s always something happening, and even when there isn’t, the tension is there.
Violet is such a compelling main character. She’s not the strongest physically, but she’s smart, determined, and refuses to quit—even when everything is stacked against her. Watching her prove herself over and over again? So satisfying.
And the dragons? Honestly deserve their own fan club. The bonds, the personalities, the absolute chaos they bring—it adds a whole extra layer that makes this series stand out.
Now let’s talk about the romance.

Best series I have read. Wanted to get back into reading because its been awhile and I could not put down any of these books. Kept me engaged and tons of other emotions.
I keep rereading this series because I just love the way that Xaden seems to fall HARD for our girl Violet. Will forever love this series. Also I definitely recommend the TikTok edit of 'Fall In Love' after you read Onyx Storm. It hits different.
