Six of Crows

See the Grishaverse come to life on screen in the Netflix series, Shadow and Bone!

Meet Kaz Brekker and his crew: Jesper, Inej, Wylan, and the star-crossed Nina and Matthias, on the heist of a lifetime in Six of Crows, from #1 New York Times-bestselling author, Leigh Bardugo.

Ketterdam: a bustling hub of international trade where anything can be had for the right price—and no one knows that better than criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker. Kaz is offered a chance at a deadly heist that could make him rich beyond his wildest dreams. But he can't pull it off alone. . . .

A convict with a thirst for revenge.

A sharpshooter who can't walk away from a wager.

A runaway with a privileged past.

A spy known as the Wraith.

A Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums.

A thief with a gift for unlikely escapes.

Six dangerous outcasts. One impossible heist. Kaz's crew is the only thing that might stand between the world and destruction—if they don't kill each other first.

I can't believe I FINALLY read Six of Crows! I've been so nervous about the Grishaverse. There's so much love for this world. It took me about 100 pages to settle into the book, but then I couldn't put it down. There are a lot of characters and layers to the plot. I understand now why readers say reading the Shadow and Bone series first doesn't matter much. It's really not necessary at all. But I still had fun reading it. The way I know I love a series is if I feel like I'll want to reread it. I probably will never reread the Shadow and Bone series, but I already want to reread Six of Crows. As long as nothing catastrophic happens in Crooked Kingdom that turns me off forever. Hello, Divergent.

I had so much fun with these characters. I see now why so many readers love Kaz. He's very intriguing and multifaceted. Really, you can say that about all of them. Now I'm just bummed that this is only a duology and not a longer series.
