this was so hard for me to follow for the first half of the book, but thats my own fault bc i havent read shadow and bone
anyway, once they started the heist, i absolutely loved it and was completely absorbed in the book
i love the characters and the different pov’s
"What business?"
I read this largely over four different segments. The first few chapters read great, though I feel like I lost a bit of love for the characters as the book went on. There were some moments where I dropped my jaw, truly, as Kaz and the others can be rather ruthless, but it feels a bit too much like a cliche heist movie-- of which I've seen far too many.
The dialogue was fun, the world building was great. I am intrigued on how it ended and could see myself reading the next book.
It's funny, because I didn't realize I'd watched Shadow & Bone on Netflix until I was halfway through, and linked the Grisha // Ravka and overall worldbuilding. Perhaps I'll watch it again.
“The heart is an arrow. It demands aim to land true.”
TL;DR - Six of Crows is the Harry Potter of heist stories
Missing substance but still enjoyable.
