I think I liked this one even more than the first! I was pretty surprised at the turn of events, I didnât see a lot of it coming which I appreciated. This book had a lot of depth and complicated themes. I always appreciate grief in a story & itâs intertwinement in our lives. This duology was incredible & Iâm sad to see the characters go but it was a perfect end

First, if you haven’t read Heartless Hunter, go do that first and then come back. Now, this book is SO GOOD! It provides a lot of context we were looking for after book one. I love the new dynamic we see between Rune and Gideon, and I truly enjoyed the evolution of both of their characters. It’s fast paced and packed with action that keeps us on our toes in the best way. I am so obsessed with this duology because it gives us our favorite romantasy aspects while also providing a unique magic system and its own twists and mysteries. I don’t know if all of my questions are answered but I feel that is the point. I believe we’re supposed to have some loose ends so we can make our own conclusions to allow us to be even more connected to this story. I felt so many emotions while reading this book which is one of the most telling things of a good book for me.
