Quicksilver (Deluxe Limited Edition) (Fae & Alchemy, 1)

A gorgeous, limited edition of the instant #1 New York Times bestseller that includes a new cover with foil elements, silver metallic edges, designed endpapers, a stamped foil case, and an exclusive bonus chapter.

Do not touch the sword. Do not turn the key. Do not open the gate.

Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses, or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember. In the land of the unforgiving desert, there isn't much a girl wouldn't do for a glass of water. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone.

When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares...but it turns out they're real, and Saeris has landed right in the middle of a centuries-long conflict that might just get her killed.

The first of her kind to tread the frozen mountains of Yvelia in over a thousand years, Saeris mistakenly binds herself to Kingfisher, a handsome Fae warrior, who has secrets and nefarious agendas of his own. He will use her Alchemist's magic to protect his people, no matter what it costs him... or her. Death has a name. It is Kingfisher of the Ajun Gate. His past is murky. His attitude stinks. And he's the only way Saeris is going to make it home.

Be careful of the deals you make, dear child. The devil is in the details...

A rare book that is actually worth the hype surrounding it! The world building, storyline and characters were brilliant. The banter between Saeris and Kingfisher was great and while both have flaws they were likeable leads. Carrion stole every scene that he was in and THAT reveal about him at the end was perfectly done. Hoping we get more Layne and Ren in next book too. Not sure on ending with Saeris no longer being human considering that was a major plot point of book 1, I liked her being the underdog proving people wrong. Can’t wait for next book!

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Format: Audiobook Slow for me to warm up too but this grew into something I couldn't wait to listen to while doing things around the house or on a drive. What made me realize it redeemed itself was the fact that I was upset book 2 won't be released until November 2025....ugh! Enjoyed the different characters and their personalities backgrounds. Loved how they were shared towards the middle and end. The banter between the MFC and MMC was very relatable and enjoyable. Even the explanation on MMC's actions from the beginning was a nice touch. Looking forward to book 2 🥰 #calliehart #quicksilver #kingfisher #bookworm #realityescapeartist777 #bookclub #bookstagram #bookreview #booktok

I am so disappointed in myself for taking so long to read this. Thank gods for the pronunciation pages in the front. They made this so much easier to read. This book is so long and holds so much information, you have to pay very close attention or you'll miss something important. It was somewhat slow in the beginning. Once Saeris & Fisher's relationship came through the door, the speed picked up tremendously. The spice between them was worth the read alone. And when I thought it couldn't get any better, we find out about Carrion, Saeris gets to meet the twins & their father, and then Saeris is saved by a vampire. There is so much to take in at the end. This was an incredible book and I definitely cannot wait for the second installment.
