Omg!!! This book is OUTRAGEOUS! lol. I absolutely love the way that Dalvin loves Tahli. It is so beautifully scary. The whole, I mean WHOLE entire time I was reading the book all I’m thinking is… do I want someone to love me like Vin? As hard as Vin? Because though Vin loves the SHIT out of Tahli he does his dirt and doesn’t love himself. Through my healing journey that I’m still on… loving yourself is imperative!
I have been hearing about this book for a while and will be attending an event where Takerra will be attending… I felt like .. NOW … lol is the time. I loved it, again, the soul connection and pull they have to each other and the way Vin is going to design his destiny.. with Tahli.. it is amazing!!! Now their relationship was a rollercoaster that’s I’m not mad that I got on.
Okay, so we have Tahli. A confident beautiful loc’d college girl with her group of friends. Paige, Abby, Lexi Jay and Dan are Tahli’s college crew. And boy oh boy do they remind me of my college group. They are living life and life just so happened to bring Dalvin into Tahli’s life! And baby after that the game was OVER for both of them.
Dalvin or Vin is a man that has been through thinly 24. He is not a college student he is a student of the streets and does not play about his respect. However, with Tahli. He is a softie and sims down that “I dot play” attitude. He is best friends and “business partners” with Munch, Jay’s big brother. Munch is Jay’s father figure right along no with Vin. Which is how we come full circle and Tahli met Vin.
Now, in this first book, the fall. That’s what they do. Fall for each other and HARD. Both can NOT shake each other no matter what they do. Tahli knows in her heart mind body and soul but be trying to play with Vin. Which I can not lie and say Vin isn’t a trip. I may have stalled him out too. However, Vin is another story. He gonna shout from the rooftops Tahli is his! No one else’s and if anyone wants to see how trying to make her theirs will turn out… they are welcome to try. 🥴 Poor Drew lol.
Anywhooooo! Such a great start to an extraordinary, out of this world love. I can NOT wait to end the series. I’m reading the second book, The Glide and baybeeee! My heart can’t take it. My body and soul
keep jumping out of itself. This kind of push and pull love is A LOT! I’ve been through it so it’s taking me and my heart back to that college time. Whooooo it’s a LOT.

Wish I could rate it 7.5. It started off slow, but I love the build up. I kinda wanna cry. Vin and Tahli seem to be made to one another, and I'm hoping that by the end of the series they'll make their way back. So much was revealed at the end. Wtf happened to Jay? Is Lexi still in the picture at all? I kinda felt that Lexi was hella envious of Tahli but hoped they'd remain friends. And Abs... what's going on with her? What happened in the between? I felt for Vin after his dad passed. He was hurting and he went to an old vice to try to feel anything other than his pain. I even wanted Tahli to just hear him out and forgive him. But what happened with Sophie that produced a child?! Can't wait to see what happens in book two.
This was good! College girl. Hood boy. They cross paths and what ignites between them is undeniable. But old habits die hard and goal oriented drive can make for one sided judgement. What do you do with that combination? Especially once love grows. This book shows how people can be wrong and right at the same time. It shows how human we really are. It shows how we can sabotage our own happiness. It shows how we can push and pull with one another in a way that can be triggering then have the audacity to pass judgement when we created the circumstances for failure. It is simply REAL.
