The first half of the book was hard for me because all the adults in Shannon's life sucked. It was basically reading depression so I could only take so much before I needed a break for my soul. I was hopeful that Darren was going to be useful but he was basically another asshole in her life until the parent's died. I wrote comments on it as I was reading because I was getting so mad, it was almost ruining the book for me.
Anyway, despite my endless complaining the story is good. I'm probably skipping Joey and Aoife's books because the reviews I saw lead to be deliver I'm going to be very upset with the way Chloe Walsh chose to write their story. I really want to read Taming 7 though. I love Gibsie and Claire.
I haven't read anything else by Chloe Walsh so I don't know if all she writes is tragic stories with happy endings, but it would be nice to get something that doesn't make me contemplate giving up on humanity for most of the book. I do like her writing, I just wish it didn't make me sink into a depression.
