Icebreaker: A Novel (1) (The Maple Hills Series)
#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
Over 1 million copies sold! A TikTok sensation! Sparks fly when a competitive figure skater and hockey team captain are forced to share a rink. Anastasia Allen has worked her entire life for a shot at Team USA. It looks like everything is going according to plan when she gets a full scholarship to the University of California, Maple Hills and lands a place on their competitive figure skating team. Nothing will stand in her way, not even the captain of the hockey team, Nate Hawkins. Nate's focus as team captain is on keeping his team on the ice. Which is tricky when a facilities mishap means they are forced to share a rink with the figure skating team--including Anastasia, who clearly can't stand him. But when Anastasia's skating partner faces an uncertain future, she may have to look to Nate to take her shot. Sparks fly, but Anastasia isn't worried...because she could never like a hockey player, right?

This book kept me smiling. This is the love people for strive for. I loved the aura of friendship in this book. I read this book in two days. I could not put it down.
Maybe I’m a simp but i kinda loved this book. The spice was spiccccciiin’. Nathan was…. whew. I loved the family dynamic between the hockey team. I’ve legit never watched a hockey game or figure skating which is why I put off reading this for so long but I guess I’m in to hockey romances now.
One of the cringiest books i've read, nate is so bloody annoying, I wanted to chuck my book across the room (except I couldn't as I had an ebook T-T)
Why was the main plot just a little drama between friends? What was even the point of this book?

The story was okay, there is ALOT of side characters which a lot in the reviews don’t like. I came attached to some of them and wanted more about them, it’d have been good to have less with more context & story around them than 29 side characters with just little bits about them!
The smut is there & detailed but also very repetitive at times I’d skip over to get to the next chapter as I felt I’d already read it all.
Overall not a great read but I finished it.
