Honestly, it's hard to rate this book because it was a whole experience for me. I did not listen to the audio, I just read the duet on my own. I found myself feeling a little sick while reading parts of this book, and had to tell myself that I just didn't understand the relationship between Addy and Zade. But even that didn't make it feel 'right' most of the time. This was my first dark romance and stalker romance, and I feel like other authors do that trope much better. Haunting Adeline was (in my opinion) a story of two people with severe issues who are not treating their problems in the right way and are instead sort of relying on one another to feel the 'fix' they're seeking. Is that a healthy relationship? No, of course not. Is this book entirely fiction, though? Yes. And that part is important to remember. Even while keeping that in mind, though, I have to say that some of the spice in this book was more painful to read than the gore was.
Definitely worth read I had to get the next one immediately!
Still processing this book days later. I have a lot of feelings. Firstly, the plot was hugely contradictory. A man who saves women from sex trafficking who also is actively stalking & raping a woman? Make it make sense. Also, the disclaimer in the beginning says that the book has nothing to do with QAnon, however the entire story is based off of one of their conspiracies. The author also introduced a ghost subplot but then… never did anything with it. The best part of this book was the side story of the murder mystery the main character was trying to solve with her friend. Overall though, I was hooked on the story and I’ll definitely read book 2. But I wasn’t very impressed.
The dark twists are enthralling! Immediately reading the second book
I loved this book for my first ever Dark Romance !
