Hunting Adeline (Cat and Mouse Duet)

The conclusion to the Cat and Mouse Duet is here...

The Diamond

Death walks alongside me,

But the reaper is no match for me.

I'm trapped in a world full of monsters dressed as men, and those who aren't as they seem.

They won't keep me forever.

I no longer recognize the person I've become,

And I'm fighting to find my way back to the beast who hunts me in the night.

Warning: This is the second and final installment to the Duet. You must read Haunting Adeline first.

They call me a diamond,

But they've only created an angel of death.

The Hunter

I was born a predator,

With ruthlessness ingrained in my bones.

When what's mine is stolen from me in the night,

Like a diamond hidden within a fortress,

I find that I can no longer contain the beast.

Blood will paint the ground as I tear apart this world to find her.

And bring her back to where she belongs.

No one will escape my wrath,

Especially not those who have betrayed me.

I’m so happy to be free of this book. Booktok really missed the mark with this duology. If you want spice, skip this one and read Icebreaker.

All I could think during this book was “I don’t want these r*psists, I want my r*pist”. Just like the first book, it’s incredibly contradictory.

This one was substantially better written than the first. And the first two acts of the book were actually very good, albeit disturbing. I didn’t hate Z as much and was appreciative of how he looked for Addie and cared for her after. But then it was like a switch went off and the two of them were back to their gross dynamic.

I went into this series not knowing what to expect. If I knew the subject matter, I would’ve passed. This book dragggggggged on and on, and was way longer than it needed to be. I wanted to DNF many times but just wanted to get to the conclusion. I kinda wish I just skipped this one. Overall I would not recommend.

Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Title: Hunting Adeline Format: Paperback It's definitely a page turner that dragged me back into the crazy and sick minds of several characters that I have grown to love/hate. So many emotions... I enjoyed getting to see more of some characters from the 1st book that i felt didn't get enough time in the spotlight. The dark and sick reality of just how messed up the world can be. This is not a book for children!!! There is no hero in this book. Only those willing to truly take what they want! Grateful to have this added to my collection. Towards the end, it did feel as if some things were left unsaid or incomplete. It is my hope that a spinoff of some type will one day appear to clear up any unfinished story lines. #bookstagram #bookreview #booktok #realityescapeartist777 #darkromance #huntingadeline #pregnantbookworm

⚠️ Trigger warnings! Trafficking, violence, sex ⚠️ If you’re reading this one you should’ve already read Haunting Adeline so you are more than aware of what you’re getting into not only with the trigger warnings but also with what is going on with Addie and Zade. The first part of this one was devastating and fairly difficult for me to read. Addie has been kidnapped and what she goes through is so scary and sad that it was actually a bit unenjoyable to me. we know zade is going to save her but waiting for that and getting to that point was tough. You’ll see a serious progression for Addie not only in her relationship with zade but also for herself personally and it is pretty cool. I still find the whole relationship crazy and unbelievable but at the same time it’s weirdly hot and I oddly enjoyed it.

The characters in this book are anything but stable in the emotional sense. Some scenes are potentially triggering, so be sure to read the warnings before embarking.

Just finished Hunting Adeline and I’m absolutely wrecked—in the best way. This book took me on a wild ride full of highs and lows, and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Zade’s love for Adeline is dark, twisted, and so intense… but it’s the kind of fierce devotion that makes your heart ache in all the right ways. He would burn the world down for her—and honestly, I loved every second of it. I’m genuinely sad to reach the end of this series. It consumed me completely. And honestly? It’s not as bad as everyone says. People definitely overreact, but it’s also not for the faint of heart. If you can handle the darkness, the story is unforgettable.
