Game On (Into Darkness Series)

#1 New York Times Bestseller. Dark Romcom Sensation. Over 3 million copies sold.
Book three in the #1 New York Times bestselling Into Darkness Series, following Navessa Allen’s scintillating Lights Out and Caught Up. The game is on for these enemies-to-lovers with laugh-out-loud banter and scorching-hot brat play.
I hate that woman.
Tyler Neumann has spent years looking for his father, and not because he wants to meet the man. No, he wants to destroy him. And he’ll manipulate whoever he can to exact his revenge.
Including Stella McCormick. She’s everything Tyler hates. Her wealth and privilege have protected her for her entire life, and Tyler thinks it's time she finally paid the price. Whether she’s ready to or not.
I hate that man.
Stella might not believe in love at first sight, but loathing at first sight—no question. From the moment she sets eyes on Tyler in her tattoo parlor, she knows he’s the devil planning to make her life hell.
Forced to play the part of his girlfriend and invite him into her family’s glittering circles, Stella quickly clocks Tyler’s ulterior motives. But love and hate are two sides of the same coin, and soon she doesn’t know which is worse: being blackmailed by a man who wants to ruin her, or that they can’t seem to keep their hands off each other.
This is an enemies-to-lovers dark romance with morally grey characters. Some themes and scenes may be disturbing to readers. Please check the content warnings at the beginning of the book.
Tropes: Enemies-to-lovers / Forced proximity / Fake dating / Rom-com / Morally grey MMC / Black cat FMC / Blackmail / Kidnapping / Power imbalance / Age gap / Betrayal and redemption / Dark past / Revenge

The third book in a series, this one had a more interesting plot than the last but it was still too smutty for me. What could go wrong with an illegal gambling operation, blackmail, and a man who operates entirely on overconfidence?! I love a strong FMC, and Stella held her own. 3⭐️ Book #31 in 2026
Girl the bird is to die for and her being a tattoo artist chefs kiss!

Game On is hands down my favorite book of the series.
This one just hit different.
Navessa Allen absolutely nailed the dynamic between the MMC and FMC. The banter? Elite. Effortless, witty, and actually funny—not the kind where you politely smile, but the kind where you literally laugh out loud and have to put the book down for a second.
The chemistry between them is so natural. It’s playful, a little chaotic, and builds in a way that keeps you completely hooked. You can feel the connection, which makes every interaction that much better.
What really sets this one apart is how fun it is. It still has the tension and emotion you expect from the series, but it doesn’t take itself too seriously—and that balance works so well. It’s light, engaging, and just genuinely enjoyable to read.
I flew through this book because I didn’t want to leave their dynamic. Every scene with them felt like a highlight.
Final verdict:
The standout of the series. Funny, engaging, and full of chemistry that actually delivers.
Bottom line:
If you love sharp banter, strong character dynamics, and a book that can actually make you laugh out loud—this is the one.
She done did it! I didn't think anything could top lights out and I was prepared to hate this book. I didn't dislike the 2nd book but it wasn't as earthshattering as the 1st. But this book, I feel seen. Stella is living out my fantasy, one. But also, she's my age. Not a twenty something!! And can we give it up for representation ladies! Both with LGBTQ and with differently abled people. Breath of fucking fresh air! Loved it!
