You’d think there’d be a little more action for the only professional wizard listed in the Chicago phone book. But lately, Harry Dresden hasn’t been able to dredge up any kind of work: magical, mundane, or menial.
Just when it looks like he can’t afford his next meal, a murder comes along that requires his particular brand of supernatural expertise. Readers say *Fool Moon* is a step up from the first book, praised for its inventive werewolf lore and expanded magical world. Many enjoy the action an...
This series is very good but this book has a lot of build up. Most of Dresden's communication is with us. Though he's the only wizard in the yellow pages, he has a lot of secrets that he isn't able to explain. The other characters aren't very big on communication either; Murphy is horrible at it.
Dresden, in this book, takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

While the plot wasn’t as engaging as the first book, I really like Harry as a character and the larger world Butcher is teasing.
I enjoyed all the magic and werewolves in this a lot! However I think characters is where this book lacked a little, mainly Dresden and Murphy. Only because the not talking about what’s going on and going behind each other’s back is a little annoying. Dresden needs to drop a little of his knight in shining armor and let people in!
Dresden isn’t one who leads his own story. The plot moves his and caused his pessimistic thinking. I didn’t really enjoy it.
I would say a solid 4.5. I REALLY liked Murphy’s development in this book. I think we really got to know her better. I also really enjoyed learning more about Harry’s past and inner self. I will most definitely read the next one, and likely the entire series. But I just..wasn’t crazy about the werewolf vibes of this. I’m not crazy about werewolves and their cult following. I’d rather it be more exciting magic. However: to credit the author I did appreciate the noting of different “breeds” of werewolf. Made for quite the interesting twists.
