Fearless

Omg you guys I’m so disappointed in this last book! The fact that I loved the other books Powerless, Powerful, and Reckless makes this one hard to swallow. I won’t add spoilers but be prepared to be upset with how the author decided to handle the mess this book turned into. It was slow at the beginning then it started picking up and I figured out the huge secret right away about some characters so when it came to light I wasn’t at all surprised but of all ways that this could’ve gone the author decides to make us hate someone and then then just get rid of them like problem solved. No, it does not make sense one bit! Also when Kai and Pae FINALLY are together we get NOTHING not even a kissing scene. There was more steam in Reckless than the actual deed! I get this was YA but it was just like “are you sure, yes” then the next morning. I was like this is ALL we get! After all this time!?! And then the epilogue what was the point!?! I have never been this disappointed in a series ending before. Not this bad at least. I had high hopes for this book and to me they dropped the ball on this one. Now all that being said. I still love the author and I still love her books. I just really wished this last book gave the fans what we were waiting for.

This book finally gave me everything I was missing from Powerless and Reckless (Powerful was in a class of its own). My heart was racing, it broke, and it was only slightly healed by the little epilogue. I was never more upset to be right about making a prediction. I wanted them all to live HEA and Kitt did not deserve that ending.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 fearless was EVERYTHING. lauren roberts fully snapped with this one. i knew it was gonna hurt, but not like this. this is 1000% her best work so far and i’m still not okay. the emotional weight was off the charts. i cried at least four times and i’m not even embarrassed about it. every single moment felt like it meant something and the way she tied everything together was unreal. kai and paedyn… no words. they are the definition of yearning. the tension, the softness, the pain?? it was giving soulmate-level connection. kai is such a fool for her and i LIVED for it. i loved how their relationship evolved through all the chaos—they were so ride or die and so raw. obsessed doesn’t even cover it. lauren roberts’ writing is genuinely poetic. the prose was stunning. the vibes were immaculate. every line hit, and the way she balances emotion with world-building is so smooth. the fantasy elements were so immersive and easy to follow, and the political drama was spicy and tense in all the right ways. also the plot twists in the last 150 pages were actually illegal. like i was GASPING. pacing was perfect, world was unreal, and the characters felt like real people. i’m gonna be thinking about this book forever.
