I really stretched out this series and in all honesty that wasnât intentional but getting back into this series reminded me that although there were a lot of things I loved about Paedyn and Kai and Kitt, it did grab me in as much as some other fantasy series. The formula is there and it isnât completely unique - I actually saw a lot about this trilogy being similar to Red Queen which I read last year and I would agree with that comparison. This book in particular had a lot of good for me.. I loved how confident Kai became in his feelings, even despite the position Kitt put him in and of course I loved Paedynâs strength and cunning. Kitt was a bit obnoxious but when everything came together I felt a bit more compassion for him at the end. I had pieced together a good chunk of the plot but I enjoyed that I could and thought everything tied together pretty nicely. I felt like things dragged on a tad bit but Iâm very happy I finished this trilogy and am satisfied with the conclusion I got.
Honestly I think with how good books 1 & 2 were, Iâm disappointed with how this trilogy wrapped up. At the end of the day, it was a good book but for me it didnât pick up and get good until the end. When compared to other fantasy series, this is still a top contender, but the story definitely fell off for me
As the official âendâ of the trilogy, pieces began to fall nicely together. The quips from Edric were seemingly out of place, but other than that I enjoyed this one.
What an amazing way to wrap up the trilogy! Such an amazing story. These characters will live in my mind forever.
Okay, so writing about this in detail is too spoil-risky, because the best parts of this book are connected with the plot twists- you can probably make the connection. But book-wise, I LOVED IT. That is all I will say.
