This book had me sobbing from start to finish because this was Adena’s story and I just couldn’t handle it. She is so incredible and loved her character in Powerless. So happy she had her moment to capture our hearts. But Lauren, why did you do this to me?!? Like pouring salt into a wound
I didn’t want to read this book but while I was waiting for the next book to be available on Libby in the series I went ahead and read it and I’m so glad I did. It was great to hear Adena’s side of the story but it’s heartbreaking. I cried so much and it left me wanting more. I want to know what happens to Mac. Will he survive this.
I didn't know I would cry this much 😭 I knew what was going to happen. I told myself I already knew everything but when Adena told her own story I became so attached and I didn't want to finish the book.
I made an effort and I don't regret finishing it. It was a great book.

Holy shit. Holy fucking shit. For a book where you know what happens to one of the main characters because of what happens in Powerless, this still fucking wrecked me.
