Wrinkled Brow Book Club

This is a book club designed around works of fiction that have really pushed the limits of the form and played around with or experimented with the style and structure of literature. Discussion will focus more on the poetics of each work: the specific techniques used, the other works they riff on or copy, the political and social implications they address, etc., leaning more towards the writerly than the readerly.

It’d be great to make this a hybrid reading/writing club for those who are working on their own projects to share them with each other or get some friendly advice, since this club caters more towards writers.

This is a very very very new club. If enough people join I can set up a meeting which will most likely be held once a month somewhere in Brooklyn by the L-train. Feel free to suggest a different novel to start with, especially if it’s one in the list of books to read.
