About The Inquiry Society

The Inquiry Society convenes South Florida’s most engaged nonfiction readers for monthly discussions that honor both intellectual rigor and genuine curiosity.

We explore the stories that shape our understanding: historical narratives that reveal forgotten truths, investigative journalism that exposes hidden systems, memoirs that illuminate the human experience, and cultural commentary that challenges conventional thinking.

Our selections may include history, science, politics, culture, religion, race, identity, sexuality, and other subjects that challenge our assumptions or take us outside our usual interests.

Choosing a book is an invitation to examine its ideas, not an endorsement of its author or arguments. We don’t expect everyone to agree with every book—or with each other. In fact, respectful disagreement is part of what makes the conversation worthwhile.

Our gatherings take place the last Thursday of each month in a private waterfront setting, where serious readers engage in thoughtful discourse over carefully selected works. Recent selections include National Book Award nominees and Pulitzer-winning investigations.

Membership is intentionally limited to foster substantive conversation and lasting intellectual community. We seek readers who finish books, arrive prepared, and value depth over small talk.

This is not a casual book club. This is a society of inquiry.
